POTTERY CLASSES
Fun, attentive, informal classes for diverse skill levels on the East side of Capitol Hill next to Madison Valley, Seattle.
Registration for WINTER 2025 pottery classes is now open and spots may fill quickly.
COVID UPDATE 11/2/24:
COVID policy regarding the upcoming 2025 WINTER SESSION (Jan-March): For the upcoming session, at the time of this writing, I’m requiring students to wear a mouth/nose mask in the studio during class. If that is a deal breaker for you, I understand and respectfully request that you not register for the fall session. I plan on doing all I can to keep my small home studio a safe haven for all my students, for me, my family, and not for COVID.
Group Classes General Info:
Small classes, wheel throwing and hand-building. All my group classes are multi-level in experience, from beginner to intermediate. Includes clay, glazes and firing.
2025 WINTER Pottery Classes: 9 weeks + Final Saturday Party, small group classes in wheel throwing and hand-building. Starting week of Jan 6th, 2025 and ending with a Final All Classes Party on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, 1pm-4pm.
To Register (full tuition):
PayPal option: PayPal price is $515 ($495 + non-refundable $20 PayPal transaction fee). NOTE: PayPal option will be available on my website starting Monday, November 18th, 2024, but not before that date.

so if you’re new to pottery – like me – you get lots of attention. If you’re already experienced, then you get Barbara’s expert advice when you want it. Great atmosphere…and a great way to explore the medium.”

“Barbara is incredibly fabulous”
“I had never used a potter’s wheel or even been inside a pottery studio when I began classes with Barbara. She has made the study of pottery very enjoyable as well as informative. We always have a lot of fun in class, but it is a serious class and a great educational experience. Barb is very patient as well and encouraging to all her students no matter what their skill level is. I highly recommend Barbara Dunshee Pottery.”
-James M
“Super!”
“Barbara is an excellent teacher, and she creates a warm and fun learning atmosphere. Barbara strikes the perfect balance of challenging students, while giving them plenty of room to experiment on their own. She personalizes her teaching for each student, helping students develop and achieve goals. Her studio provides a great learning environment, and she has a great glaze collection! All in all, top-notch!!”

STUDIO SUSTAINABILITY & CONSERVATION
Barbara Dunshee Pottery practices sustainability and water conservation! We wet-clean as we work to keep clay dust to a minimum, ensuring clean, healthy air in the studio. The studio water is sourced with non-plumbed containers, allowing all clay and glazes to be recycled and reused within the ecosystem of the studio. Electric lighting is a combination of LED and full-spectrum fluorescents. Flooring is recycled rubber from tires. Even the students are recycled since they keep coming right back!
